Hype

I study how hype, expectations, and innovations influence our relationship with the future. My dissertation uses the asteroid mining industry of the 2010s to reconstruct hype theorizing and build new theory about the phenomenon. I engage in a mix of traditional and computationally augmented qualitative methodologies.
